Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 August 2026
The short version. KeepValid has no accounts and no server. Everything you enter is stored in your own iCloud account. We collect nothing, we track nothing, and we cannot read your entries or your attachments.
What we collect
Nothing. KeepValid operates no server and has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. There is no account to create, so we never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Where your data lives
Your entries — names, dates, tags, reference numbers, notes and any attachments — are stored in two places:
- On your device, so the app works offline and reminders fire without a network connection.
- In your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit private database, so your entries appear on your other devices.
That iCloud data belongs to you and counts against your iCloud storage. It is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer of KeepValid has no access to it and no ability to grant anyone else access.
Encryption
Attachments are stored as CloudKit assets, which Apple always encrypts. In addition, the entry's name, reference number and notes use CloudKit's field-level encryption, so those values are encrypted before they leave your device.
On your device, the local database is protected by iOS file protection and is encrypted at rest. Attachments are additionally hidden behind Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode before they can be viewed.
Reminders
Reminders are local notifications, calculated on your device and scheduled with iOS. Nothing about your reminders is sent anywhere. Notification text deliberately contains only the entry name and how long is left — never a reference number — because it may appear on a lock screen.
Sharing
If you choose to share an entry, KeepValid uses Apple's CloudKit sharing. You pick the recipients, and Apple manages the encryption keys. Only the entry you share is shared: its details, tags and attachments. Your reminder settings are personal and are never shared, even on a shared entry.
You can stop sharing at any time from the system sharing sheet inside the app.
Purchases
KeepValid Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. Whether you have purchased Pro is determined on your device by StoreKit, and follows your Apple ID.
Camera, photos and files
If you attach a photo or a file, it is read only when you pick it and is stored with your entry. KeepValid does not browse your photo library or your files, and does not upload them anywhere other than your own iCloud.
Face ID and Touch ID
Biometric authentication is performed by iOS. KeepValid only receives a yes or no answer, and never has access to your biometric data.
Your rights and your control
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control:
- Delete an entry in the app to remove it and its attachments.
- Settings → Delete all data removes everything from the device.
- Delete from iCloud in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage to remove the data Apple stores for you.
- Delete the app to remove all local data.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, your rights under the GDPR in respect of iCloud data are exercised against Apple, as the party that stores it.
Children
KeepValid is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Because the app collects nothing, we do not expect material changes unless the app itself fundamentally changes.
